A quick search on the internet reveals that Swine Flu has now become a pop culture phenomenon. From games to t-shirts to videos everyone is trying to cash-in on the virus. Some through use of fear, others by comedy. Twitter has listed #SwineFlu as a trending topic for weeks. A quick search brought us to page after page of humorous and creative ways people are reaching out during this Swine Flu Frenzy. We have listed our 10 favorites in no particular order.

1.  The SwineFighter Game


The object here is to shoot the pigs with the giant syringe. That's it, a complete time waster, but fun for a few minutes. Just head over to www.swinefighter.com/ and see how many green pigs you can destroy.

2. Zombie Plague Script Replacement

If you are tired of seeing Swine Flu references on every website you navigate through, then try this new script that replaces all references to the Swine Flu with Zombie Apocalypse references. When we checked the site about 60 people had downloaded it, and there were no negative reviews. We did not test it, so you are on your own. But feel free to check it out here.

3. Swine Flu Monster Video (with product push)

Now a quick disclaimer: We don't recommend you run out and buy this product, but it's being pushed heavily on Twitter and YouTube. The video features a pig chasing a guy who rushes to save his life by using anti-bacterial hand lotion and a mask that is being sold by the company that evidently made this video.




4. Selling Herbal Remedies

Everyone seems to have the miracle cure for Swine Flu, and they are pushing their remedies via blogs, YouTube and Twitter.


At first glance this guy does not appear to be  a health nut, but he sure is pushing products on his blog to bring in some extra money. His advice is that you should buy a month's supply and see what happens. I advise you to see a doctor before listening to someone who plays one on YouTube. 6. Social Media Exposure



Hundreds of accounts have popped up on Twitter and Facebook spreading jokes and some touting they have breaking news about the virus. Regardless, they are drawing in fans and friends to help them spread their message of "Face-licking Parties" and cures.   We recommend getting all of your news and information directly from the CDC (Center For Disease Control)


7.  Online Church Prevents Spread of Swine Flu

Found this new trend by accident as more and more Twitterers were chatting about seeing disposable wipes in the Church pews and found that churches were not having services due to the widespread panic about the flu. But then the trend was to push online churches like http://live.lifechurch.tv/ as a viable alternative to ease your fear of public contact.




8. Swine Flu iPhone App Allows You To Panic Anywhere

Over at Gizmodo you can find out how to track Swine Flu in real time with the Apple iPhone tracker. Well at least this gives people the ability to navigate around cases of the flu more easily
